Proceedings of the Second Forensic Congress, held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, May 21-23, 2000. Sponsored by the Technical Council on Forensic Engineering of ASCE. This collection contains 71 papers covering a wide variety of forensic engineering subjects related to research, practice, and education. Topics include: becoming an effective expert, Kansas City Hyatt collapse, unusual failures, insurance and risk, non-destructive testing, natural disasters, forensic engineering practice, bridge performance, temporary structures, facade failures, education issues, foundation failures, and sick buildings. Theoretical concepts are nicely balanced by practical applications. This collection provides design professionals, researchers, educators, and students with a wealth of technical information regarding the status and progress of forensic engineering.

Proceedings of the Third Forensic Congress, held in San Diego, California, October 19-21, 2003. Sponsored by the Technical Council on Forensic Engineering of ASCE. This collection contains 55 papers on forensic engineering. Each paper applies engineering principles to investigate failures and performance problems of engineered facilities and to develop practices and procedures for reducing the number of future failures. Topics include: Pentagon terrorist attack, mold, loads during construction (SEI/ASCE 37-02), earthquakes and SMRF, historical failures, nondestructive evaluation and infrastructure management, investigation of reinforced concrete structures, education, nondestructive evaluation and measurement, World Trade Center and response, performance of bridges and structures, ethics and practice, construction and erection problems, unusual structures and investigation, and masonry and concrete problems.
